Hiking in the Pacific Northwest - Fifty Shades of Green

Went on a hike yesterday with my friend Wendy and her dog Mari - the amazing, wee, hiking chihuahua. Headed east into the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie Forest to the Annette Lake Trail: 7.5 miles to the lake and back (1,400 ft. of elevation gain), a very nice picnic (if I do say so myself), and all the hallmarks of a hike in these parts - waterfalls, moss, mushrooms, ferns, logs on the trail that need to be scrambled over, crystal-clear streams to cross, and an array of delicate wildflowers. Great way to spend a Saturday.
